The video of an Amazon delivery driver, JaMaiya Miller, went viral after two Caucasian women at a Texas apartment complex labeled her a “thief” while she was on the job. Miller, a Black woman, shared her side of the disturbing encounter.
On Dec. 16, Miller attempted to deliver packages to residents at an apartment complex in Houston. One of the packages had delivery instructions to leave it outside on the second floor. It required her to access the building, and a woman, presumably a neighbor, opened the door for her. Later, this person began to freak out and called for assistance when Miller tried to head to the second floor.
After that, a second woman harassed Miller, physically assaulting her and using racial slurs. A video captured part of the shocking incident. She prompted Miller, saying, “We’ve had thieves here, and you’re a thief!”
Following the attack, Miller shared the footage on her personal TikTok page, expressing the disturbing experience she had. The video garnered nearly 800,000 views. Miller wrote, “I did not once hit or touch her back. As much as I wanted to, I knew she would weaponize anything I did to her against me.”
Miller also stated that authorities took ten days to contact her to follow up on her police report. Even though an investigation is underway, police have yet to identify the violent woman in question.
