Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Jack Jones is upset about the crucial offsides call in the game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
With the Colts leading by a touchdown and just over three minutes to play, Indianapolis was set to attempt a 50-yard field goal. Jones seemingly timed the snap perfectly, almost blocking the attempt, and giving the Raiders a chance to tie the game and stay in the playoff race after the field goal bounced off the right upright.
Unfortunately, a penalty on Jones gave the Colts another attempt from 45 yards out, which was successful. Despite Jones believing he was lined up legally and even checking with the referee beforehand, the penalty changed the game’s outcome, and the Raiders lost 23-20.
After the game, Jones took to social media, sharing a video of the play to dispute the call and express his frustration with the referees’ decision.

He also mentioned that he sought confirmation from the referee before the play.

Despite the frustrating call, Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce chose not to criticize the referees, acknowledging that it was a close decision on both calls.
Unfortunately, the controversial call cost the Raiders the game and ended their playoff hopes for the year.
If the Raiders had won Sunday’s contest, their playoff hopes would be slim, but still alive. A controversial call destroyed those chances, and now Las Vegas will miss the postseason for a second-straight season.
