The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended the 20-year-old unidentified man at an apartment complex near the University of Buffalo’s North Campus, sources told The New York Post.

WABC-TV reported he was from the Bronx, and would return to New York City to face charges. The New York Police Department aided in the apprehension, NBC News reported.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Nov. 16, Boyd was with two teammates, cornerback Jamien Sherwood and wide receiver Irvin Charles, at a Manhattan restaurant and bar at Seventh Avenue and West 38th Street.

After closing, a scuffle broke out on the street and two shots were fired. Crime in NYC posted video on X of the incident.

He was critically wounded in the abdomen. A bullet was lodged in his lung and he was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Police said the gunman ran away, and they asked the public for help finding a suspect.

Boyd, 29, posted a few days later on Instagram from a hospital bed with a photo: “I’m sorry I have no words at the moment..Just grateful!. I’m coming along, starting to breathe on my own now. Sincerely appreciate everyone!”

On Nov. 29, he posted he was back in the hospital because of “health issues.”

His Instagram Stories have since disappeared from his profile because it is more than 24 hours old.

Last week, he made a surprise appearance at the team’s training facility in Florham Park, N.J.

Boyd signed with the Jets this season and has been on injured reserve because of a shoulder injury. He previously played with the Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals.
