Rudy von Berg is determined to make a splash on the PTO Tour in 2024 following a stellar year that saw him finish at #7 in their rankings and receive the athlete of the month award for November after his historic IRONMAN Florida win.
Despite only competing in four races this season due to a broken collarbone, the American still managed to secure victories at IRONMAN Texas and Florida.
While he finished fourth in the inaugural men’s IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, his races in the US Open and European Open only saw him place 20th and 22nd respectively over 100km. However, he remains confident in his abilities and believes he can be a podium contender despite being recognized primarily as a full-distance specialist.
After receiving the November award from the PTO, Rudy von Berg shared his plans for 2024, emphasizing how winning in Florida has opened up new opportunities for him in terms of race selection and bonuses.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, he expressed his excitement at the prospect of participating in PTO races while also adding Roth and Kona to his calendar.
He is optimistic about his podium potential in 100K races and pointed to his previous performances as evidence of his ability to compete at the highest level. His impressive power output at IRONMAN Florida further fuels his confidence in his capabilities as he looks forward to the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming season.
