When it comes to the punishment of Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, Shaquille O’Neal says he’d play it a little different if he were in charge of the NBA.
O’Neal joined the hosts of “TMZ Live” and revealed that he’d only suspend Draymond for a mere two games, compared to the indefinite suspension that was handed down by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver following Green’s physical altercation with Jusuf Nurkic on the court on Wednesday.
“I don’t think Draymond said, ‘Hey, I’m going to punch this guy just ’cause he’s pulling my jersey,'” Shaq said. He continued on to say he believes that what Draymond did was a result of a flop gone wrong.
Silver and the NBA have decided to take a harsher stance, though, barring Draymond from joining the Warriors for the time being. The NBA stated that Draymond “will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before” he can play for Golden State again this season.
