Builders and medical managers got together to have their photo taken

What happens when builders and medical managers unite? They gather for a photo shoot, of course! South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is moving its eye hospital to a new 10,000 sqm building in the heart of Sunderland. To celebrate this milestone, main contractor Kier and project partners hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on site, marking the start of construction. The new hospital is set to be completed in spring 2026, offering an improved experience for both patients and staff. Chief executive Ken Bremner shared, “This is a momentous day, not only for the NHS, but for the city of Sunderland and our whole region.”
