SuperRare Now Accepts Bitcoin for NFTs

SuperRare Expands to Bitcoin Blockchain with New “No Brainers” Collection

SuperRare, a prominent NFT exchange, recently announced its plans for expansion to the Bitcoin blockchain. The platform is set to launch a new collection called “No Brainers” next month, marking its entry into the Bitcoin NFT space. The collection, a collaboration with artist Killer Acid, will feature unique collectibles, differing from the generative image trend commonly seen in the NFT world.

Collaboration with Gamma

In addition to the new collection, SuperRare has partnered with Gamma, a marketplace specializing in NFTs on the Bitcoin blockchain. The upcoming Ordinals collection will undergo the same rigorous curation process as SuperRare’s other offerings, although the exact number of collectibles in this collection remains undisclosed.

Community-Driven Initiative

Zack Yanger of SuperRare shared that the decision to explore Bitcoin support stemmed from user feedback, emphasizing the platform’s dedication to empowering creators. The move to embrace Bitcoin NFTs reflects the growing interest in expanding beyond Ethereum and exploring new possibilities within the NFT ecosystem.

Bitcoin NFT Market Trends

SuperRare’s venture into Bitcoin NFTs coincides with a notable trend in the market. Recent data shows a surge in Bitcoin NFT trading volume, surpassing that of Ethereum. This shift has been attributed to the higher prices commanded by Bitcoin NFTs, signaling a potential opportunity for growth and innovation within the Bitcoin NFT space.

Elon Musk and the Bitcoin NFT Ecosystem

Notable figures like Elon Musk have also shown support for the Bitcoin NFT ecosystem, further fueling its momentum. Musk’s endorsement of NFTs residing on the blockchain aligns with the ethos of Bitcoin Ordinals, attracting interest from key players in the industry such as Yuga Labs, OpenSea, and Magic Eden.

As SuperRare joins the Bitcoin Ordinals movement, it is poised to contribute to the increased adoption and visibility of Bitcoin NFTs, shaping the future of digital collectibles on the blockchain.
