Epic
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has introduced many exciting features such as a new map, gun attachments, and the addition of Peter Griffin, but there is one new change that players are not loving: the significant alterations to the locker UI. The locker UI is a system for selecting, organizing, and favoriting skins, and players are not happy with the changes made to it in this new chapter.
So, what exactly is wrong with the new Fortnite locker UI? The list of complaints is quite extensive:
- The rarity of items is now heavily hidden, making it difficult to see at a glance.
- Many presets have been deleted or are missing components.
- Finding the preset section is cumbersome and requires unnecessary clicks and scrolling.
- There are now seven different tabs for each skin, making the process of setting up skins more complicated.
- PC shortcuts are missing, and favoriting skins now requires several additional steps.
Other issues include the inability to autoclear new item notifications, a disruption to the organization of outfits, and a general unappealing design. It appears that these changes were made with little regard for the user experience, resulting in a more convoluted and confusing interface.
It seems unlikely that Epic will revert to the old locker setup, but with the overwhelming feedback, it’s possible that they may address some of the most common issues mentioned by players. Many have struggled to navigate the new interface, and improvements are clearly needed.
