Postings declined in 2023 but still remained higher than prepandemic levels, according to data from job-listing site Indeed.
Employers wrapped up 2023 with a reduced number of open positions compared to the beginning of the year, as businesses filled more roles and opted not to hire for others.
Total job postings as of the end of 2023 dropped by over 15% from the previous year, based on data from job-listing site Indeed through Dec. 29. “The rate of decline appears to have stabilized somewhat in the latter half of the year,” stated Nick Bunker, an economist at the jobs site.
