Intel’s Latest Business PC Offering

Following the release of its 14th-gen mobile processors for consumers, Intel has introduced the corresponding ‌vPro platform for business PCs. However, unlike the consumer‌ lineup, ‍there will only be one mobile processor platform available, rather than two.

New Core Ultra Processors for Business Laptops

Intel has unveiled nearly a dozen Core ⁣Ultra processors designed for business laptops, opting not to offer the 14th-gen Core chips for mobile PCs. This ‍marks a departure⁣ from Intel’s consumer laptop strategy, where ‌Core Ultra chips are used‍ in ⁣mainstream ‍laptops while the 14th-gen‍ Core (or Core HX) is reserved for high-performance laptops and gaming devices. In contrast, ‌the vPro desktop lineup will exclusively feature 14th-gen Core⁢ chips.

Intel vPro Subcategories

Intel has categorized its vPro lineup into Essentials, aimed at small businesses⁢ with up to 20 ⁣employees, ‌and ⁢Enterprise, catering to larger enterprises requiring advanced⁢ security and manageability ‍features. While these features are⁢ primarily managed by IT departments, vPro laptops come equipped with features like Intel Hardware Shield as standard. Intel has continuously enhanced Hardware‌ Shield with additional protections⁣ against cryptomining and ransomware over the years.

Enhanced ‍Security Features

Intel’s 14th-gen Core Ultra vPro platform boasts enhanced ‍security⁢ features, including Intel ⁣Threat⁣ Detection Technology running on all cores for improved⁢ power-efficient protection. The new ‌Intel Silicon Security Engine ⁣authenticates⁢ system firmware, ensuring secure ‌operations. These⁣ platforms also provide‌ detailed information about the ⁢PCs⁢ they run ⁣on, enhancing visibility into ⁢system health and‌ performance.

Expanded Design Offerings

Intel⁣ plans to release over 100 mobile and desktop designs based on⁤ the vPro-class ‍Core and Core Ultra chips, collaborating with brands like Acer and VAIO.

14th-gen vPro Chip Lineup

Intel’s 14th-gen vPro chips build upon the Core Ultra lineup introduced in December 2023, featuring‌ familiar processors with⁤ added variants like ⁤the ‌Core Ultra 9 185H, Core‍ Ultra 7 164U, and Core Ultra 5 134U. ‌These additions expand the‍ chip options available to consumers and businesses.

Focus on ⁤Desktop vPro Chips

While the 14th-gen mobile Core HX family⁣ is currently‍ on hold, the desktop vPro lineup shines with select processors from the October 2023 launch of the⁣ 14th-gen desktop ⁣Core⁢ architecture. Furthermore, Intel has introduced new 35W and 65W desktop Core chips, offering a range of options ⁣for desktop users.
