Allie Phillips, who lives in Clarksville, said she was grabbing lunch when she began receiving notifications of the tornado that was quickly approaching her neighborhood.
“I was on pins and needles watching the live stream and not knowing if my house was still standing,” she explained. “When we finally decided to leave, the road to my home was blocked because of the power lines; we had to take a detour.”
Phillips shared that her home remained mostly intact, but her daughter’s toys were damaged, and a neighbor’s dog kennel hit the back of her home. Unfortunately, her neighbor’s house was missing a roof, and another home on the block had practically vanished.
“You can never be truly prepared for something like this,” she said.
