Tragic 35-Vehicle Pile-Up Leaves 2 Dead, 9 Injured in Bakersfield
A major 35-vehicle pile-up in Bakersfield resulted in two fatalities and nine injuries. The collision occurred on the 5 Freeway on a foggy Saturday morning, leading to a massive chain-reaction crash involving 35 vehicles, including 18 big rigs.
Due to the accident, the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway between SR-223 and Older River Road have been closed until further notice. It is currently uncertain when the roads will reopen.
