Exciting News: Google just rolled out its groundbreaking Gemini AI model. The best part? You can test drive it for free! If you’re using the Bard chatbot, you can access the Gemini Pro version right now. Plus, if you have a Pixel 8 Pro, you can experience a version of Gemini with your text replies in WhatsApp, and coming soon to Gboard.
Right now, only a fraction of Gemini is accessible. But don’t worry, future updates are in the works – including the highly anticipated multimodal capabilities. This means the chatbot will be able to process various types of input and produce diverse outputs. At the moment, Bard only offers the text-based version.

Today, Google unveiled its cutting-edge AI model, Gemini, exclusively on the Bard chatbot. According to Demis Hassabis, the AI executive behind the project, Gemini has the potential to advance robotics and other initiatives.
Don’t understand why everything is in English and not available in the European Union? Not to worry, Google has plans to support other languages and expand their reach soon. Expect Gemini to go global in the near future!
Surprisingly, Gemini Pro is completely free to use, so don’t be misled by the name. While you can still use older AI models with ChatGPT for free, access to the latest model, GPT-4, requires a monthly subscription. As for what’s next for Gemini, details are scarce. But rumor has it that Google may grace us with Gemini Ultra in 2024, which could launch within an upgraded chatbot known as Bard Advanced.
How to Get Your Hands on Google’s Gemini Pro
If you already have a Google account, accessing Gemini in Bard is as simple as visiting the website in your browser and logging in. Keep in mind, you need to create an account to use Bard. Users with Google Workspace accounts may need to switch to their personal email account to try Gemini.
Keep an open mind, though, as this is still an experimental phase. You may encounter a few software glitches as the chatbot works out the kinks. Despite this, Bard’s integration with other Google services, when it works, has promising potential. For example, use the @Gmail tag to have the chatbot summarize your daily messages, or @YouTube to explore topics with videos.
What sets Gemini Ultra apart from the current Gemini Pro model? Google describes Ultra as its “most capable mode,” designed to handle complex tasks across various mediums – text, images, audio, video, and code. There’s also a smaller version called Gemini Nano, tailored for smartphone features, and it’s already available in the Pixel 8 Pro for WhatsApp replies.
