Amazon Prime Video offers a range of great options, including hidden gems that often go unnoticed but are worth your time. These shows were all released in the past decade, and one of them requires an additional subscription to watch beyond the first episode.
Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021)
Fresh from her Emmy-winning performance as the lovable Alexis in Schitt’s Creek, Annie Murphy takes on a darker role in Kevin Can F**k Himself. Allison (Murphy) is trapped in a marriage to a selfish man-child who takes her for granted. Driven to the edge, Allison decides to plot her husband’s murder to break free.
This dark comedy presents each episode in two distinct styles. First, it appears as a traditional sitcom with vibrant colors and laughter as Allison interacts with her husband, Kevin (Eric Petersen). However, it transitions into a single-camera drama with a somber tone when Allison is alone, revealing her inner turmoil and plans. Kevin Can F**k Himself is a unique blend of humor and tragedy, offering a poignant commentary on the struggle of women to be seen and heard. It’s a gripping show unlike anything else on TV. Note that while the first episode is available on Amazon Prime, you’ll need to subscribe to the AMC+ add-on channel to continue watching, with a free trial available.

Bang Bang Baby (2022)
In a bid to earn her father’s affection, teenager Alice (Ariana Becheroni) joins the Calabrian mob, becoming its youngest member. Set in 1980s Milan, Bang Bang Baby is referred to by producer Lorenzo Mieli (The Young Pope, My Brilliant Friend) as a “family melodrama intertwined with crime.” The show draws loose inspiration from a documentary that Mieli produced about Marisa Merico, the real-life daughter of a mob boss who unknowingly followed her father into a life of crime in Milan.
