A former high-flying executive at Kenya Commercial Bank, Leonard Thuo Mwithiga, is facing a lengthy prison sentence for trying to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife. His abusive behavior led his wife to run away, so Mwithiga followed her to the United States in an attempt to convince her to return home. After failing to do so, he took matters into his own hands. Mwithiga tried to hire a hitman and approached a random Uber driver to help him. The Uber driver, however, was quick to contact the authorities and report the incident. The undercover police officer met with Mwithiga outside a Motel 6 and proceeded to put Mwithiga under arrest. Mwithiga is now being held on a $5,000,000 bond.
