February 12 (UPI) – Illumination is preparing for the launch of the highly-anticipated film Despicable Me 4.
During Super Bowl LVIII, the studio debuted a teaser for the upcoming animated movie.
Despicable Me 4 serves as a sequel to the successful Despicable Me 3 (2017) and marks the sixth installment in the beloved Despicable Me series.
The returning voices of Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig will once again bring Gru and Lucy to life in the film, as they navigate the challenges of welcoming a new addition to their family, Gru Jr., who is determined to make life difficult for his father.
“Gru encounters a fresh adversary in Maxime Le Mal (played by Will Ferrell) and his alluring partner Valentina (portrayed by Sofia Vergara), leading the family to embark on a thrilling adventure,” stated an official synopsis.
Newcomers Joey King, Stephen Colbert, and Chloe Fineman join the talented cast, while Pierre Coffin reprises his role as the voice of the lovable minions.
The recently released teaser, named “Minion Intelligence,” showcases the minions delving into the realm of A.I. art, highlighting its imperfections such as an artwork depicting hands with an excess of fingers.
Scripted by Mike White and Ken Daurio, with Chris Renaud at the helm as director, Despicable Me 4 is set to hit theaters on July 3rd.
