As we raised our glasses in celebration, the event came to a close, marking a significant achievement. However, beneath the surface, there was more to consider.
A Reflective Conversation
After delivering the closing keynote at a business conference, I found myself in a bar with the event’s founder, discussing future plans and goals. We delved into topics such as expanding the event next year, business revenue targets, and the ongoing effort to expand his team threefold in just four months.
A Shift in Focus
Transitioning to a different subject, I inquired about his personal goals outside of business. With a moment of contemplation after his third old-fashioned, he mentioned ensuring the happiness and health of his family.
The Mask of Success
As the night progressed, it became apparent that his exterior success in business didn’t necessarily reflect his personal well-being. Issues with sleep, nutrition, and family relationships painted a different picture beneath the surface.

This scenario is all too common in the entrepreneurial world, where business objectives often overshadow personal priorities. While we meticulously plan and execute our professional goals, our personal lives can sometimes be neglected.
