Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo is setting an example for Nigerians by promoting local brands as a crucial strategy for economic growth, job creation, and the development of Nigeria as a whole. He recently took a tour of the Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) manufacturing plant in Nnewi and urged Nigerians to reduce their dependency on foreign products and embrace indigenous brands.
Soludo emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses, especially in rural areas, to preserve traditional craftsmanship and culture, foster a sense of national pride, and promote sustainable development. He also commended Innoson Vehicles for its steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s economic advancement and job creation through the expansion of its manufacturing plant in Nnewi.
During his visit, Soludo reaffirmed his commitment to using Innoson vehicles as his official mode of transportation, fulfilling a promise made during his Governorship campaign. “I made a proclamation during my campaign that if elected as your Governor, I would make Innoson vehicles my official mode of transportation. Today, I reaffirm that commitment. I am prepared to serve as the Chief Marketing Officer for any indigenous manufacturer,” he said.
Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO of Innoson Vehicles, also showcased the company’s dedication to manufacturing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) vehicles, underscoring their commitment to eco-friendly solutions.
This demonstration of support for local brands and businesses is a strong message to Nigerians about the importance of embracing homegrown products. By promoting local brands, Soludo is encouraging economic growth, job creation, and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship and culture. His visit to the Innoson factory is a testament to the potential of Nigerian brands and the positive impact that supporting them can have on the country’s development.
