Two fully electric Volkswagen ID3 and ID Buzz Cargo models have been added to Bentley’s First Response Team fleet, making a big step towards reducing pollution at their UK headquarters.
The ID.3 and ID Buzz Cargo will be handling a variety of activities, from medical emergencies to off-site events, as well as day-to-day duties onsite, showing their versatility and importance to the team.
Distinct features on the vehicles, such as the Bentley wings and site emergency number, as well as sirens and a light bar, make them stand out and ensures they are equipped to handle emergencies. Both vehicles operate within the confines of the 10 mph speed limit in place at the Bentley site.
What’s great about the switch to these electric models is that it will reduce the amount of fuel used from 1261 litres in a year to 0 litres, showcasing the environmental impact of this decision. Additionally, both EVs can be charged at 107 onsite charging points powered by more than 36,000 on-site solar panels.
These new electric First Response Vehicles align with Bentley’s Beyond100 strategy, aiming to be end-to-end carbon neutral by 2030. The move follows the lead set by Bentley’s on site Logistics operation, which only uses battery-powered vehicles.
