Hey fight fans! Ever wonder how the rankings are determined? Well, we take into account a fighter’s wins/losses, quality of competition, finishing rate/dominance and frequency of fights.
But wait, there’s more! Fighters can say goodbye to their ranking if they’ve been inactive for 24 months due to injuries, drug/conduct suspensions, contract disputes or self-imposed hiatuses. It’s tough out there!
And here’s a twist – fighters serving drug/conduct suspensions can still be ranked, as long as they don’t stay inactive for more than 24 months. It’s all about keeping that fighting spirit alive!
We do our best to rank fighters in their primary weight class, but catchweight fights and bouts outside their primary weight class can shake things up. Non-titleholders can only be ranked in one weight class at a time, and in most cases, they need to have their first fight at a new weight before they can be ranked there. It’s a tough world out there for fighters!
