The highly-anticipated remake of the cult classic ‘Road House’ will finally be available for streaming on Amazon Prime starting March 21, exciting fans all over.
This modern version of the 1989 Patrick Swayze action flick features A-list stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor, marking McGregor’s debut in a major feature film. The film follows the story of Gyllenhaal’s character, Elwood Dalton, a former UFC fighter who finds himself in a whirlwind of trouble after taking a job at a roadhouse bar in the Florida Keys.
Adding to the excitement, McGregor portrays the chief rival to Gyllenhaal’s character, directed by the acclaimed Doug Liman of ‘The Bourne Identity’ fame.
Gyllenhaal stunned audiences when he filmed sequences for the movie during last year’s UFC 285 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. During the event, he took part in a weigh-in that would be featured in the film, and even ‘fought’ UFC and Strikeforce veteran Jay Hieron inside the cage in between official bouts on the card.
Hieron spoke about the intense filming process, saying, “We had one take. Six minutes and you’re out. You either get it or you don’t. So that process was great, too. Everybody was dialed in from the wardrobe to every piece of the production. Shout out to the whole team that had the ball rolling. It was just incredible to be a part of.”
