Alright, I admit that this headline isn’t typical PCWorld content, but stick with me. I’m not exactly the primary audience for the just revealed by Chinese manufacturer Yeston. And I’m definitely not saying that everyone’s PC parts should be covered in cartoon pinups. However, I must say that I genuinely appreciate Yeston’s GPU designs, and I’d love to see more companies follow suit.
Over the last fifteen years or so, PC designs that receive the most attention and press coverage (I feel old saying “ink”) mainly consist of products from brands like Razer, Alienware, and Corsair. You know, the sleek black plastic, brushed metal, and an abundance of RGB LEDs. Yeston, on the other hand, caters to a niche market that appreciates a different kind of aesthetic. They’ve carved out a small but dedicated following, and that’s something I can respect—even if I’ve never debated online about which anime character would make the best life partner.

Put simply, Yeston creates components that capture a unique aesthetic, and they do it remarkably well. The (the word “sakura” means “cherry blossom” in Japanese and has feminine connotations as it’s also a given name) features orange blossom petals inlaid in the plastic, with a beautiful mixture of soft pastel blue and purple. This type of thoughtful, appealing design is something I’d like to see more of in the gaming desktop market.
