The 2024 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Townsville team has just revealed the courses for the event set to take place next August.

Get ready for the biggest event to ever hit the region! The 2024 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Townsville is expected to draw thousands of athletes and supporters from all over the globe.
Mark your calendar for 14-25 August! This 12-day extravaganza will feature 19 World Championship races, catering to five different levels of athletes – Age-Group, Para Triathletes, Junior, Under 23, and Elites.
Hang tight for Sprint and Standard Duathlon, Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon, Aquathlon, Long Distance Triathlon, and Aquabike, World Championship races. And the best part? All events will be centrally located in Townsville.
Get ready for a split of excitement across two venues! Road-based events, including Duathlon, Aquathlon, Long Course Triathlon, and Aquabike, will be based out of Jezzine Barracks. Meanwhile, Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park will play host to the offroad events of Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon. Don’t fret about distance as both venues are a stone’s throw away from the event hub at Strand Park.

“The Multisport world is coming to Townsville in 2024 and these courses have been carefully designed to be technically challenging across all disciplines while enjoying the stunning surroundings of North Queensland, Australia.”
Jarrad Easlea, 2024 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Townsville Race Director, echoes the joy felt about the launch of the courses, marking a major milestone ahead of next year’s event.
“With the countdown to the 2024 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Townsville well underway, the event team is excited to be able to launch the course maps and information for the local community and athletes from home and abroad,” said Easlea. “A significant amount of work has gone into developing courses that showcase Townsville, will provide close and exciting racing and also minimise impact on the local community. I’d like to thank event stakeholders for working closely with our team to develop these courses and we look forward to seeing thousands of athletes race for World Championship glory next August.
“We can’t wait to welcome athletes from all over the world to the region for what will be an incredible event showcasing Tropical North Queensland to thousands of athletes, their families and supporters,” he said.

The World Triathlon Multisport Championships made its debut in the World Triathlon calendar in 2017 in Penticton (Canada), a successful event that was followed by Fyn (Denmark) in 2018 and Pontevedra (Spain) in 2019.
