Dress for Success Tampa Bay Welcomes New Interim Director
In an exciting development, Dress for Success Tampa Bay, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering local women to achieve economic independence, has appointed Naomi Hattaway as its new Interim Director. This decision followed a comprehensive national search in collaboration with a third-party recruiting agency.
Laurell Jones, President of Dress for Success Tampa Bay Board, expressed enthusiasm about the arrival of Naomi Hattaway as the new Interim Director. Jones spoke highly of Hattaway’s qualifications and expressed confidence in her ability to continue the organization’s tradition of compassionate service to its clients. Hattaway’s alignment with the values of empathy and respect for all was highlighted as a key factor in her selection.
In her statement, Naomi Hattaway conveyed her excitement at the opportunity to support Dress for Success Tampa Bay. She shared her personal connection to the organization’s mission, reflecting on her own experiences as a single mother without a college degree in the past. Hattaway emphasized the importance of career coaching and job skills training in her own journey and expressed gratitude for the chance to work alongside the Dress for Success Tampa Bay team.
Following the departure of longtime Executive Director Katie McGill, the Board of Directors has implemented a thorough strategy to ensure a smooth transition to new leadership while honoring McGill’s legacy. As the Interim Executive Director, Hattaway will be responsible for leading the organization during this period and facilitating the transfer to a permanent Executive Director. Hattaway assumed her new role on January 30, 2024.
With a background in guiding executive leadership transitions within nonprofit organizations, Hattaway brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Her expertise in community engagement and nonprofit management positions her well to steer Dress for Success Tampa Bay through this interim phase.
Looking ahead, the Board of Directors is actively engaged in the search for a permanent Executive Director who will uphold the organization’s mission of service and empowerment for women in the community.
