Regé-Jean Page Lands a Role in Steven Soderbergh’s New Film
Renowned actor Regé-Jean Page is set to take on a new role in an upcoming project by Steven Soderbergh. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Page will star in “Black Bag”.
After the news broke that Soderbergh was putting together a project with Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender attached to star, Focus Features acquired the film. The script, written by David Koepp of “Jurassic Park”, is described as a gripping spy thriller.
Page gained worldwide fame from his role as the charming Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, in Netflix’s hit series “Bridgerton”. Although he decided not to return for the second season, Page has been transitioning to the big screen with projects like Paramount’s “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” and an upcoming reboot of “The Saint”. He also appeared in the action film “The Gray Man” for Netflix.
“Black Bag” will not only reunite Soderbergh with Blanchett, who starred in his previous films “The Good German” and “Oceans 8”, but also with Fassbender, who worked with the director on “Haywire”. The film’s producers include Casey Silver and Greg Jacobs.
Page is represented by CAA, The Artists Partnership, and Johnson Shapiro. The news was first reported by Deadline.
