TOKYO, Dec 8, 2023 – (JCN Newswire) – The Agreement between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and ADNOC, signed on December 6, marks the beginning of a collaboration to develop value chains for blue NH3 and blue H2. Through this agreement, MHI will provide technological solutions to aid in the decarbonization of ADNOC’s oil and gas production sites, as well as the production of blue hydrogen and blue ammonia for global consumption. The companies will leverage each other’s strengths and create synergies to accelerate the development of hydrogen and ammonia businesses, while also supporting global efforts to achieve net zero emissions.

MHI’s advanced technology, such as hydrogen-fired gas turbines and ammonia-fired gas turbines, will play a crucial role in expediting the energy transition. Dr. Hitoshi Kaguchi, Senior Executive Vice President at MHI, emphasized the company’s commitment to contributing to ADNOC’s net zero ambition through reliable technology. Mr. Musabbeh Al Kaabi, ADNOC’s Executive Director of Low Carbon Solutions and International Growth, highlighted the potential for the partnership to drive the development of hydrogen and ammonia value chains and contribute to the broader new energies eco-system.

This partnership signifies a strategic bi-lateral relationship between the UAE and Japan, with the goal of building carbon-neutral societies and accelerating the journey to net zero by 2045.
