The Fallout: London project has been five long years in the making. This serious and quite impressive modification for Fallout 4 takes players to a radiated England, a completely new setting away from the familiar North America wasteland.
After a delay in the 2023 planned release, it now has a full release date, and it’s just a few months away. So gear up for the thrill!
Creating a large-scale modification like Fallout: London takes time and dedication. The project started in early 2019 and gained momentum over the years, bringing together a team of over 50 core developers and more than 200 contributors who have reimagined the entire Fallout 4 game set in London. A complete UK wasteland, now that’s hard to miss!
The game-sized mod covers the UK capital’s boroughs from Camden to Croydon with all significant landmarks. Players will be able to explore famous landmarks such as Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament, which have been perfectly reimagined in post-apocalyptic tones.
All in all, the explorable wasteland is said to be as huge as Fallout 4’s original Commonwealth and its Far Harbor DLC combined. Get ready to relish everything British, from iconic pubs and tube stations to buses and telephone boxes, scattered all around.
The developers at Team FOLON have said that the mod is already “content-complete”. They have been working tirelessly on reskinning assets from the original Fallout 4 and introducing the creation of hundreds of new weapons, clothes, animations, and objects, including seven unique settlements. However, the grand release was pushed back from its planned date in 2023 to 2024.

The team, unfortunately, cited a number of reasons for the delay, including the mod’s scripting team being located in a “region affected by conflict”. This has ultimately contributed to the need to delay for the sake of achieving the level of polish and testing they aim for.
With a new release date set for April 24th – St. George’s Day, the developers have promised to deliver a truly unforgettable Fallout: London experience. They wish to achieve a level of detail and testing, especially in light of the numerous issues faced by other community or industry projects recently.
Brace yourself to take on this new London wasteland and avoid any potential release issues. The developers have indicated that the delay will help them wrap up the final testing, and also coincide with the mod’s launch around the same time as Amazon’s premiere for the Fallout TV show.
In light of plans for Bethesda’s free “next-gen” Fallout 4 update, Team FOLON confirmed that they have no plans to release Fallout: London for the new update in 2024. The developers mention that they “cannot foresee the changes they [Bethesda] may implement”.
