As the 2023 DTM season comes to a close, it’s clear that Porsche has had an eventful year in the series. While Manthey EMA is set to continue their domination next year, Team Bernhard is stepping down from GT3 racing entirely, and Toksport WRT is still in discussion with Porsche for next season.
Toksport WRT made a huge splash on their DTM debut, with a stunning victory and several podiums. But their early success wasn’t sustainable, and the rest of the season proved to be challenging for them. Team Bernhard also had occasional moments of success, but no team was able to compete with the powerhouse that is Manthey EMA.
With Manthey’s strong ties to Porsche, some are questioning whether other teams can truly compete on an equal playing field. This concern led SSR Performance to join forces with Lamborghini rather than Porsche for the 2023 season.
Despite the challenges, Porsche insists that they support all their teams equally, providing necessary technical and spare parts support. However, Manthey EMA’s expertise and financial strength make them a force to be reckoned with in the series.

It’s also worth noting that Manthey EMA’s DTM program is quite different from its participation in the World Endurance Championship, further solidifying their position as the team to beat in the series.
