He then solidified his position as the leader of AlphaTauri, contributing to Nyck de Vries’ departure. Even after a string of races without scoring, Tsunoda showed steady progress and finished the season on a high note with a brilliant performance in Abu Dhabi.
While there were occasional mistakes, Tsunoda’s overall performance in the 2023 season was laudable. With his contract extended for the 2024 season, he faces a significant challenge against Daniel Ricciardo, as a seat in the top team may be at stake. It’s up to Tsunoda to continue improving and prove that he is worthy of a spot in a leading team.
