Renowned actor Scarlett Johansson and NFL legend Dan Marino may come from different professional backgrounds, but they share a common love for M&Ms. The duo is set to star in an upcoming Super Bowl commercial that will highlight M&Ms as the ultimate comfort food for watching the big game.
Adding to the entertainment factor, the commercial will playfully reference Johansson and Marino’s “almost champion” status – Johansson with her acclaimed Oscars and Marino with his Super Bowl loss. The comedic theme will come to life with special appearances from former NFL stars Terrell Owens and Bruce Smith.
Johansson’s admiration for Marino runs so deep that she eagerly signed on to the project without even knowing it was for M&Ms. Luckily, her fondness for the brand, especially the peanut butter variety, made the collaboration even sweeter.
When asked about the partnership, Johansson expressed her excitement, stating, “I was thrilled at the prospect of working with Dan. The opportunity to collaborate with such a legend was truly special. And, of course, being a huge fan of peanut butter M&Ms only added to the excitement.”
On the other hand, Marino favors the chocolate M&Ms but was equally thrilled to team up with Johansson. Both stars embraced the lighthearted nature of the commercial and were happy to poke fun at themselves in the process.
Reflecting on his career, Marino shared, “Life moves on. While I may have only played in one Super Bowl and not emerged victorious, I believe that creating a fun and enjoyable Super Bowl commercial is a great way to embrace our ‘almost champion’ status. It’s all about the comfort and fun of working on a project like this.”
