If you’re feeling the absence of The Golden Bachelor like I am, then this is the week for you. There’s more to celebrate than just New Year’s Eve, with the upcoming nuptials of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist live on ABC’s The Golden Wedding happening this Thursday. (They’ll also be appearing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest).
ABC has been hush-hush about the details and surprises, but you can expect to see Golden Bachelor fan favorites Susan, Kathy, Faith, Nancy, April, Sandra, Ellen, Edith, and Joan there. As for runner-up Leslie? Well, that’s still uncertain. She likely wishes Gerry well, but attending the wedding might not be her first choice.
New Bachelor Joey Graziadei will also be present, so you can count on ABC promoting his season during the two-hour event. And while I’m eager for the announcement of The Golden Bachelorette, it’s best to let Gerry and Theresa shine on their big day. (I’m betting we’ll get that news eventually, though).
Aside from The Golden Wedding, there aren’t too many new premieres this week, so NBC is banking on new episodes of Night Court and Extended Family to draw in viewers. Most other network sitcoms and dramas won’t premiere until February, giving NBC an edge over the competition. It’s also a huge week for college and professional football.

The primetime special will also feature entertainment newsmakers like Jelly Roll, Ashanti, Ronald Gladden (Jury Duty), Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and fiancée Theresa Nist, plus Missy Elliot, and more. 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024 (ABC): Seacrest will lead the countdown to midnight alongside Rita Ora live from Times Square. Performances include Aqua, Doechii, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Janelle Monáe, Loud Luxury x Two Friends with Bebe Rexha, Ludacris, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Paul Russell (who will perform his viral song, “Lil Boo Thang”), Reneé Rapp with Coco Jones and Thirty Seconds to Mars. The show’s Spanish language countdown will again broadcast from Puerto Rico with Dayanara Torres as co-host. 8 p.m. to 2:13 a.m. ET
