Tsunoda exposes F1’s targeted radio messages

Yuki Tsunoda Raises Concerns About F1 Targeting Radio Messages

During race weekends, the Formula 1 often broadcasts radio messages from drivers and their race engineers for additional insights. Yuki Tsunoda recently suggested that his radio messages were specifically targeted by F1 for broadcast purposes, following in the footsteps of Fernando Alonso during his time at McLaren Honda.

After the Bahrain Grand Prix, Tsunoda’s radio messages were aired along with instructions from RB F1 to swap positions with his teammate Daniel Ricciardo. Tsunoda hesitated to comply with the order, leading to a tense moment between the two drivers after the race.

In response to the fallout, Tsunoda has once again committed to improving his radio maturity, a recurring theme since his entry into F1. He acknowledges that there is still a learning curve and aims to show progress in this area moving forward.

Tsunoda expressed his frustration with the situation, recognizing that his heated radio messages may be exploited by F1 for entertainment purposes. Despite his efforts to control his emotions on the radio, he feels that the more he speaks, the more likely it is for his messages to be portrayed negatively.

Moving forward, Tsunoda is determined to focus on his on-track performance and minimize any controversy stemming from his radio communications. By demonstrating improved maturity and composure, he aims to shift the narrative away from his radio outbursts towards his racing abilities.
