What a game! Ty Berry scored 20 points, and Ryan Langborg added 17, hitting a combined total of nine 3-pointers to clinch Northwestern’s 74-63 victory over Jackson State on Friday night in Evanston.
Berry drained 5 of 10 from long range, while Langborg made 4 of 8. And let’s not forget Boo Buie, who chipped in 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists for Northwestern (10-2).
But Jackson State put up a fight, with Ken Evans Jr. making five 3-pointers and finishing with 23 points, and Chase Adams adding 13 points and six assists.
However, Northwestern took the lead for good, pulling ahead 21-19 midway through the first half. Jackson State tried to close the gap, with Adams scoring the last four points to make it 39-33 at halftime.
But Northwestern wasn’t giving up. They opened the second half strong, and after a 21-10 run, they led 61-45 with 11:48 to play. Despite efforts from Jackson State, they couldn’t get any closer.
The Wildcats have been on fire, winning six of their last seven games. Their next challenge? Resuming Big Ten play at No. 11 Illinois on Tuesday.
