Dennis Simmons, USC’s receiving corps coach, had high praise for the team’s talented receivers last fall. However, it seems like USC is now facing some challenging questions with its receivers.
USC’s receivers, Brenden Rice and Tahj Washington, have announced their intentions to declare for the NFL draft. And now, Mario Williams has entered the NCAA transfer portal, leaving USC without three of its four starters from last season. The team is now facing a talent drain at the receiver position.
USC’s leading receiver, Mario Williams, is just the latest in a string of USC players who have entered the transfer portal. This mass exodus is leaving the Trojans with only two upperclassmen receivers entering the offseason, Dorian Singer and Kyron Hudson.
Feeling the impact of this mass exodus, USC might be turning to sophomores Zachariah Branch and Duce Robinson to step up in the coming season.
