Ex-NFL quarterback explains interesting caveat in Justin Fields’ future originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
It’s the question of all questions for the Bears.
What’s in store for Justin Fields’ future? Former NFL quarterback, Robert Griffin III, has some interesting thoughts on this burning question.
“To me, this all boils down to what happens with the coaching staff,” Griffin III said on ESPN’s Get Up!. He believes that the fate of Justin Fields depends on whether the Bears retain their current staff or bring in new leadership. If a new coach and general manager are brought in, it’s unlikely the new regime would hold onto Fields.
Griffin III also takes into account the uncertain futures of Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus within the organization. He raises valid concerns about the impact of constant turnover on Fields’ ability to perform.
Despite all the speculation, Fields has shown improvement this season, demonstrating potential to be a great NFL quarterback. However, the question remains – will it be with the Bears?
“Justin Fields will be a really good quarterback somewhere,” Griffin III said. “What I’ve seen from him over the past three games, or since he’s gotten back from injury, is he’s playing much more efficient football.”
