Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić was ejected from Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls, and the scene left fans and announcers at the United Center stunned. The incident occurred just before halftime when Jokić was thrown out of the game after briefly arguing with an official.
The incident occurred following a missed layup by Jokić, who believed he was fouled on the play. Despite protests from the Nuggets’ coaching staff and disbelief from commentators, Jokić was shown a red card and ejected from the match.
While what exactly led to the ejection is unclear, Jokić reportedly directed profane language at the official. Following the game, he admitted “I crossed the line but sometimes that word doesn’t cross the line. It is what it is.”
This is Jokić’s second ejection of the season. The Nuggets, led by Reggie Jackson in Jokić’s absence, were able to secure a 114-106 victory over the Bulls and claim their first win in four games.

Coby White led the Bulls with 27 points in the loss while shooting 8-of-15 from the field. Vučević added 26 points and 16 rebounds. The Bulls have lost back-to-back games after their four-game win streak, and have fallen to to 9-15 on the season.
Reggie Jackson led the Nuggets in Jokić’s absence with 25 points after he shot 9-of-16 from the field. Michael Porter Jr. added 17 points and seven rebounds, and Julian Strawther finished with 16 points off the bench.
