Aljamain Sterling Excited for Featherweight Division Debut
Aljamain Sterling is embracing his move to the featherweight division, confident that his decision will lead to his best performances yet. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on MMAFighting‘s “The MMA Hour”, Sterling expressed his belief that he has found his rightful place in the 145-pound weight class.
“The thought of cutting weight to 135 pounds is physically and mentally draining,” Sterling revealed during his appearance on The MMA Hour. “Despite appearing composed on the outside, the toll it takes on me internally is immense. I’ve been struggling with this for a long time, and I believe it has impacted my past performances. I’ve felt a decline in my cardio and energy levels, leaving me unable to give my all in the cage.
“I am looking forward to the change and seeing how it will reflect in my fights at featherweight. I want to showcase the version of me that can engage with the crowd between rounds, exuding energy and readiness,” Sterling added excitedly.
