After starting the season with some ups and downs, Damian Lillard’s comfort level has taken the Milwaukee Bucks to a whole new level.
The superstar point guard scored an impressive 40 points to lead the Bucks to a commanding 132-119 victory against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night. This was his third consecutive game with over 30 points, and the Bucks’ winning streak extended to five as their season record improved to 20-7.
Lillard thrilled the Fiserv Forum crowd with an outstanding performance from beyond the arc, sinking a season-high seven three-pointers on 12 attempts. He also became the 51st player in NBA history to reach 20,000 career points, making it clear who deserved the game ball.
Lillard’s spectacular performance meant that Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo only had to score 11 points in the victory, although he did record a triple-double with 14 rebounds and 16 assists. Bobby Portis added 23 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, and Khris Middleton chipped in 17 points.
But Lillard was undoubtedly the star of the show that night, and fans on social media were absolutely captivated by his incredible performance:
