The IKEA Home smart app has been updated with exciting new features for the DIRIGERA hub. With the latest software, you can now manage multiple DIRIGERA units directly from your smartphone. Additionally, support for new smart home products has been added, enhancing the functionality of both the Home smart app for the DIRIGERA hub and the Home smart app 1 for the TRÅDFRI gateway.

IKEA has rolled out these updates, bringing the iOS app to Version 1.22.1 and the Android version to Version 1.18.2. It’s important to note that IKEA has two apps for controlling smart home products: Home smart for the Dirigera hub and Home smart 1 for the TRÅDFRI gateway.

With the latest update, the IKEA Home smart app now allows support for two DIRIGERA hubs, a significant enhancement from the previous limit of registering only one device. IKEA has emphasized that this upgrade is designed to help customers “keep everything under one digital roof.” This improved support for large smart home systems is particularly beneficial for customers with over 100 devices, which is the current maximum volume of connections per unit.

The update also introduces the new PARASOLL door/window sensor to the app, giving users the ability to receive smartphone notifications for unexpected movements. Additionally, The Workshop feature allows users to test and rate beta features, such as automatic screen rotation and the “Let it snow” Christmas background. The Home smart 1 app for TRÅDFRI was also updated earlier this month to Version 1.25.0, adding support for several new products, including the SOMRIG shortcut button, VALLHORN motion sensor, and the recently released JETSTRÖM LED light panel.
