Jason West experienced a tremendous year in 2023, rising from PTO World #23 at the start of the campaign to PTO World #3 at the end. The US Open and PTO Tour Asian Open victories were the highlights of the season but three early consecutive podium finishes, including two wins, set the stage for his success,” West recalled.
The 30-year-old also emphasized the significance of learning through each performance. “Every performance is an opportunity to learn,” said West. His reflections on the season and its impact on his career revealed his perspective of continuous improvement.

On social media, West stressed the need for self-reflection as he gears up for 2024. “Each performance is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and refine,” he stated.
West’s mindset and determination to make every race count were critical throughout the season. “I like to think that our attitude and intention have a strong impact on the outcome. How we perceive ourselves is crucial, and we are capable of achieving much more than we realize. If we continue to strive, we never know the heights we could reach,” highlighted the Boulder-based triathlete.
He also learned that consistent long-term improvements hold more value than immediate successes in the eight-month long season. “Continuous progress brings benefits in the long run and allows you to make performance gains progressively, guiding your process in the right direction,” said West.
