Kiwi star Kyle Smith emerged victorious in the final race of the 2023 IRONMAN calendar, holding off a strong challenge from Jack Moody and Kurt McDonald to secure his spot for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship next year in Taupo.
In the women’s race, Hannah Berry displayed her strength to claim the top spot ahead of Lotte Wilms and Rebecca Clarke.
Pro Men – Smith’s Triumph
Spaniard Javier Gomez led out of the water in the men’s race, but Smith quickly joined him at the front. On the bike, Smith, Gomez, and McDonald made an early break for the podium while others struggled to keep pace. Smith ultimately overcame the competition and secured a well-deserved victory.
After catching Smith early in the run, McDonald was unable to maintain his pace, with Moody ultimately passing him to secure second place behind a triumphant Smith.


Pro Women – Berry Takes the Lead
Hannah Berry led the charge in the women’s race and never looked back. Despite a strong challenge from Wilms and Clarke, Berry maintained her pace to clinch the top spot, capping off an impressive victory.
