Wow! Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg has just become the fifth richest person in the world after a huge jump in Meta’s share price. His net worth has skyrocketed more than any other individual in 2024, increasing by $14.3 billion so far, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index.

After declaring its first ever dividend and a big increase in revenues, Meta’s shares rose 15% in post-market trading on Thursday, increasing the company’s market cap by more than $140 billion to $1.17 trillion.
Meta shares have increased by 14% in 2024 and by 109% over the previous 12 months, and Zuckerberg, who already became the world’s youngest self-made billionaire aged 23, is set to receive $700 million a year in dividends from Meta. With a current net worth of $142 billion, Zuckerberg now sits behind Tesla
