Get ready for some big news!
Last weekend’s announcement that Francis Ngannou’s second professional boxing match will be against none other than Anthony Joshua has stirred up some familiar talk in the boxing world. One of the latest to jump in with an opinion is the former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew.
“I’m putting my money on AJ, and I’m expecting him to win in a brutal fashion,” Bellew, who is connected to Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, shared with givemesport. “Fury and Joshua have different styles, and if Joshua comes into this fight fully prepared and focused, then he’ll win easily. Ngannou surprised a lot of people against Fury, but this is a different fight, and I believe Joshua will knock him out in about one or two rounds.”
Many of you may remember similar predictions made before Ngannou’s boxing debut, where he narrowly lost by split decision to the undefeated Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia in October — even knocking the world champion to the canvas with a powerful left hook in the third round.
Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, is widely considered the hardest hitter in MMA history and demonstrated in the Fury bout that he has the ring intelligence to make the most of his natural talents.

But if he can secure a victory against another one of this era’s top heavyweights — or even put up a strong fight — it will be hard, if not impossible, to deny his status as a legitimate force in two different combat sports.
