Boston Bruins
The Bruins will most likely need some help at center, but their main priority will be keeping goalie Jeremy Swayman (RFA) and winger Jake DeBrusk (UFA). DeBrusk has really shown that he is a true top-six producer and belongs in Boston.
Swayman, only 25, is part of a great goaltending duo with the 30-year-old Linus Ullmark and has proven to be the best goalie this season so far. He could have a great impact in keeping one or both.
Carolina Hurricanes
The Hurricanes have most of their core under contract with great deals. Their big task this offseason will be renewing contracts with a few restricted free-agent forwards such as Martin Necas, 24, and Seth Jarvis, 21.
Both players are young, stars on the rise. Necas, in particular, has become one of their top stars and he is likely to get a fat paycheck.
Detroit Red Wings
Detroit has spent big in the last two offseasons, with a low number of contracts for next season and many pending free agents.
Key restricted free agents like Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider will be crucial, Raymond, 21, and Seider, 22, are the key players and decisions need to be made whether to tie them down.
The big question for the Detroit Red Wings is do they stick with short bridge contracts or commit to long-term deals?
Florida Panthers
The Panthers have two big unrestricted free agents this offseason: forward Sam Reinhart and defenseman Brandon Montour.
Both could be offered long-time deals, Reinhart, in particular, is having a standout season and could be expensive to keep.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings are facing some tough decisions with young forwards Quinton Byfield and Arthur Kaliyev entering restricted free agency.
