Protein will be your key element. In middle age, those who increase their plant-based protein intake have higher chances of enjoying good mental and physical health in their golden years.
Nutritionists from Tufts University in Boston analyzed data from the Nurses’ Health Study. The lifestyle choices of participants were followed for more than two decades. Andres V. Ardisson Korat, DSc, explained, “We want protein, but especially from plants, as our bodies age. Research suggests that choosing plant-based protein sources over animal or dairy can lead to a better quality of life later on.”
