Historically, TI always had its own meta, with an emphasis on reliable and powerful lockdown. This year might be different, though, as many iconic TI heroes are currently off-meta.
Rubick
It’s time to talk about Rubick, the incredible hero who can turn around matchups, steal abilities, and take his team to victory. You might see him as a situational pick this time, but he’s always been a game-changer in the professional scene.
However, the hero’s popularity might be affected due to the current status of another iconic TI character, 
Enigma, who is struggling at the moment. Historically, Rubick was the go-to counterpick against Enigma, and this might change the game for Rubick this year.

That said, she is unlikely to be a response pick and there are better heroes for this role in the current patch, however, her new powers might earn her some spotlight in the upcoming battles.
Io
Last but not least, Io. The most contested hero, but not as popular in the history of the International. However, things might change this year. This hero has the ability to amplify the mobility of core heroes, provide a ton of resources and better farming potential. What’s not to love about Io, the game-changer? Especially in the current patch, where every kill counts and is greatly rewarded. So be prepared to see Io in action this year.
