Designer Kriso Leinfellner’s QASIS system garnered the top prize of $3,000.00 for its revolutionary approach to space cargo packing, setting a new standard for practical and efficient storage solutions in space. Additionally, participants from Turkey, Brazil, Nigeria, and Germany received cash prizes ranging from $250.00 to $2,000.00 for their creative contributions to the challenge.

Future Logistics Challenges in Artemis Missions

As the Artemis program unfolds with a series of missions, the complexity of supply logistics will evolve with each crew and cargo journey. The “packing space” challenge presented a hypothetical scenario involving a crew of four embarking on a three-week mission to the Gateway before two members proceed to the moon for a week of exploration and scientific experiments. This scenario highlights the critical role of efficient cargo storage solutions in supporting successful space missions.
