Huntington Beach’s Newest Beachfront Dining Now Open to Sip, Savor & Soak in the Sun
Huntington Beach, CA (RestaurantNews.com) It just got easier for beachgoers to experience the ultimate SoCal beach day with Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Beach Club extension, the Sand Bar, now open in Huntington Beach. Located directly across Pacific Coast Highway from The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, the Sand Bar was designed by Rock-and-Roll Restaurateur Sammy Hagar to take the party to the beach and offer a slice of paradise directly on the sand. Guests can enjoy bold flavors and ocean vibes with a variety of craft cocktails, coastal Mexican favorites, Texas-style barbeque, and gourmet pizza, served on one of Southern California’s most picturesque and captivating beaches.
“Cabo Wabo Beach Club extension, the Sand Bar, takes the energy and creativity of our resort restaurant experience directly to the golden sands of Huntington Beach,” comments Paulette Fischer, General Manager of The Waterfront Beach Resort. “This outlet builds on our partnership with Sammy Hagar, who has become known for building reputable restaurant and spirits industries, and we are confident that it will quickly become an integral part of the beach community.”
The Sand Bar features 100 seats on a 2,100-square-foot patio, which offers full-service dining. Counter service is available for those who prefer to take their meal to enjoy on the sand. The restaurant offers year-round dining Wednesday through Sunday, and holidays, from noon till sunset (time will vary according to season).
“The Cabo Wabo brand was born on the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, so it only seems fitting to have it return to its roots with this new oceanfront extension,” explained Hagar, who simultaneously celebrates the one-year anniversary of Cabo Wabo Beach Club, an elevated take on his world-famous Cabo Wabo Cantina, located at The Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. “As an Orange County resident, I have enjoyed many sun-filled days and magical sunsets on Huntington Beach, and adding great food, cocktails and music completes the experience.”
BEACHSIDE BITES & SIPS
Bringing together the easygoing vibes of beach life with bold bites, the Sand Bar menu is designed to satisfy a wide variety of palates, with something for everyone. Starters include coastal Mexican favorites, Coctel de Camarones, a south-of-the-border shrimp cocktail with jalapeno and avocado, and Grilled Esquites, fresh-grilled whole corn on the cob with sea salt mayo, chili lime and chipotle. Texas-style Brisket tossed in Cabo Wabo BBQ sauce is a sandwich option, alongside Sausage Link and Smoked Turkey Breast, all offered with choice of pickles, marinated red onion or Bibb lettuce on a brioche or pretzel bun. Those who prefer a burger will find a beachside Chuck Burger with cheddar and garlic aioli, served on a pepper brioche with smoked garlic parmesan fries.
